Travel to Shanghai, China -  Why visit Shanghai? Shanghai, one of the most populous and most developed cities in China, has became an attractive city for travelers worldwide in the past 20 years. The world will once again have its eyes on the city when it hosts the 2010 World’s Expo. Ancient Shanghai is rushing headlong into the future. From the Bund, you can look across the Huangpu River to the news Pudong financial district, home of the Shanghai Stock Exchange, the Jinmao Building and the Oriental Pearl TV Tower. You can still find traditional China in the side streets, but it’s being crowded out by the modern trappings of development.

When to visit Shanghai, China? In summer it’s hot and humid. In spring, the rains arrive and continue through summer. There’s more rain in winter, and temperatures become uncomfortably cold and damp, sometimes dropping to freezing. For much of the year, gray skies can continue for weeks. Fall, especially September and October, sees more sunny skies with cool evenings.
