Iceland Travel Guide - Travel to Iceland

Travel to Iceland - Why visit Iceland? Travelers to Iceland are often struck by its stark, pristine scenery, shaped by more than 200 volcanoes and numerous glaciers. Iceland, one of Europe’s most popular travel destinations, is a frozen land full of U-shaped valleys, monstrous icecaps, jagged lava fields, hot springs and geysers unlike any other landscape on Earth.

When to visit Iceland? The best time to visit Iceland is from mid June to mid September. From mid May to mid June and from mid September to mid October, it’s still fairly nice, but with slightly cooler temperatures. The winters are cool and very windy, but mild. Iceland gets very little sunlight during the winter-in December and January, there are no more than 3 or 4 hours of daylight. However, if you are into winter sports, you’ll find good bargains on airfare, hotels and tours.
