Venice - Cheap Flights to Venice

Fly to Venice -  The lagoon city of Venice has visitors year-round and the busiest time is April to October. If you plan on visiting during this time, make sure to book your international flight to Venice, Italy in advance. Christmas, New Year, and Carnevale (February) are also very busy.

The closest airport is Marco Polo International Airport (airport code: VCE), on the mainland near Mestre, 13 km from the city. It is served by most large international airlines. You can get to Venice from the airport via boat which is certainly the most romantic and unique way to get there.  The airport has bus connections with Venice (Piazzale Roma), Mestre, Padua and other towns. The airport runs a shuttle bus to the Alilaguna water-bus jetty, where gets you a leisurely 80 minute boat trip to San Marco via Murano, Lido and the Arsenale. Or take the cheaper boat to Fondamente Nuove which takes only half an hour. Alternatively, you can travel in style (and much faster) by hiring one of the speedy water-taxis (30 mins) for about €100.

Many travelers book cheap international flights to Venice during the off-season to avoid some of the crowds and save money on airfares. Usually, international airline tickets to Venice will be the cheapest on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursday. Mondays are popular with business travelers and weekends are key dates for vacationers.
