Manila’s Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) (airport code: MNL) is the main international gateway for travelers to the Philippines and is the hub for all Philippine airlines. The Philippines’ official flag-carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) has its own terminal in NAIA, called Terminal 2 (NAIA 2), that serves both domestic and international flights. PAL usually provides “seamless” transfers between their international and domestic network, which you would generally not get arriving with other carriers. NAIA has daily non-stop international flights to and from Bangkok, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Honolulu, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Detroit, Narita; Zurich, Amsterdam and other international gateway cities. The airport is located 7km south of the center of Manila and serves the general area of Manila and its surrounding metropolitan area. There is an airport bus service to the city center, and regular buses including Alladin Transit, Baliwag Transit and Dominion Transit that leave from outside the airport every 15 minutes to destinations along Manila’s ring road. Colourful ‘Jeepneys’ offer services between the airport and a Metrostar Express rail terminal, which connects to the city center. Taxis are available outside the airport and can be arranged at the Taxi Office inside. Car rental is also available at the airport.
Manila erea is also served by Diosdado Macapagal International Airport (DMIA) (airport code: CRK) which is also called Clark International Airport. Flights to and from DMIA are from regional low cost carriers like Tiger and Air Asia and serve regional cities including Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok. This can be anything from a 90-minute to three-hour ride, depending on the traffic. These airlines have dedicated bus transfer services that transport passengers to and from the DMIA via newly renovated toll roads. You can catch the bus by Philtranco either from its terminal in Pasay City, Manila or from SM Megamall (behind building A) in Mandaluyong, Manila.
