The city’s main airport is Brussels International Airport (airport code BRU)- previously known as Zaventem Airport. The airport receives international flights to Brussels from Europe, USA, Canada, Asia and Africa, hence insuring connections to almost every corner of the world.

The airport is located in Zaventem, 13km northeast of Brussels. From the airport, a train runs every 15 mins to Brussels Nord, with the journey taking 15 minutes. There is also a bus every 20 to 30 minutes via Rondpoint Schumann to the Place de Luxembourg district, from where the same ticket is valid for another 30 minutes on the metro or busses into the center. A taxi to the city center costs around € 25 when booked in advance, otherwise around € 35. If you’ve just arrived at the airport’s train station, first check the time of the next train then go up one level and check whether the bus is about to depart and take whichever is quicker depending on your final destination.

Several low-cost airlines fly both into Brussels International Airport and Charleroi airport (airport code: CRL). Charleroi airport is south of Brussels and is one hour away from Brussels city center.
