Dublin Travel Guide - Travel to Dublin, Ireland
Travel to Dublin, Ireland - Why visit Dublin? Dublin, the thriving capital city of the Republic of Ireland, is the small, charming, eminently walkable city visitors expect. Dublin is noteworthy in terms of its vibrancy, its lively nightlife and its varied tourist attractions, and is the most popular entry point for international visitors to Ireland. Dublin has become a favorite city-break destination for young European visitors. Travelers should plan to stay at least two nights to take advantage of Dublin’s superb cultural offerings (theaters, museums and bookstores) as well as its lovely parks, friendly pubs, interesting historical sites and vibrant street scenes.
When to visit Dublin? It shouldn’t come as a shock to learn that when the climate is at its warmest and the days at their longest (July and August), the crowds throng, prices soar and lodging is tough to come by. The flip side is no crowds in winter, but short, bleak, cold days and many tourist attractions closed as locals hibernate. If you’re after the chance of good climate but hope to avoid crowds, try June or September. If you want to celebrate with the locals, plan to arrive just before St Patrick’s Day (March 17), but be sure to book well in advance.
